A Krater from the late 8th century B.C.E. (Geometric Greek period)

Kraters were popular during the geometric Greek period. they werre large vases that were often ornatly decorated with scenes from myths and Greek stories. The Kraters were used to mix water and wine but was later used for other purposes.Kraters were also used as burial urns


Ancient Greek culture was nautical and based greatly on the sea. They were great warriors but also were scholars depending on the city state. The society was mostly ruled by men. We learned from the ancient Greeks many things such as the philosophies of Aristotle or the democratic system of Athens.
